Frida Kahlo’s “Little Deer” done by Annie Mess at Resurrection Tattoo in Austin, TX
Frida has been an idol of mine since I was 11 and this was the first painting of hers that I saw.

The tattoo is pretty self-explanatory: it’s the hydrogen symbol wore by Doc Manhattan in Watchmen. Since my best friend Linda and I live apart we also liked the idea of adding something “chemical” to our relationship.Plus, if we were to have a symbol tattooed, it should at least be one that we respect, and this is definitely the case.
